Not To Be Missed...
Queensland
Barista Championship
The Queensland Barista Championship is being held in the Queens St Mall,
Brisbane tomorrow, Sunday 18th March.
The competition starts at
11:00am
The competition will be based on the World Barista Championship rules.
1) Baristas have 15 minutes to familiarize themselves with the espresso machine, set up their equipment, and adjust the grinder. Everything must be contained on the competition table.
2) When asked to proceed, the barista will start the timer and has 15 minutes to prepare and serve to the four sensory judges at the judging table: four espresso; four cappuccino; and four “signature” drinks. The order is at the discretion of the competitor.
The “signature” drink is any espresso-based non-alcoholic drink that you prepare during the competition. It is an opportunity to create a drink that has coffee flavours, and reflects the wider flavour combinations that are possible from espresso coffee. The barista will be asked to explain this drink to the judges.

Unfortunately Brother Espresso will not be represented this year, next year for sure.
